We are currently seeking to hire an Events Coordinator to join the Fund Development Department. This position will be required to physically work in the local office (Paterson, NJ) Monday-Friday.

Working under the leadership of the Director of Development, the Events Coordinator will “own” the entire fundraising events cycle, manage donor relationships (both existing and new), oversee digital marketing and social media content, and department data management and administrative duties.

Plan and execute four annual fundraising events that meet or exceed the organization’s budgetary goals. Will also be expected to create and develop ideas for new fundraising opportunities and special events to generate additional donor gifts and awards.

Oversee all Pre event and Post event activities and logistics. Incumbent will be required to attend all events as scheduled and will be required to visit venues for planning and execution purposes.

Establish and/or maintain new or existing relationships with vendors and venues, committee members, and event attendees. Post event activities will include facilitating various modes of communication to all event participants as a means to further develop important organization/vendor relationships.

Manage all event budgets and event AP/AR functions.

Provide Post event report on event successes, revenue amounts, and challenges/areas of improvement to enhance future events.

Research and secure new sources of financial support through community outreach.

Assist with all donor communications and cultivation activities throughout the year as a member of the Development team.

Monitor organization’s social media platforms. Work in concert with the Director of Development to develop and curate engaging content (in the form of live content, written, video, and photo media).

Interact with social media users and respond to messages and inquiries.

Track effectiveness of content and audience levels to increase organization awareness.

Measure effectiveness of marketing efforts and continually enhance utilizing various methods (i.e Constant Contact, Mailers, and Marketing campaigns).

Assist Director of Development with producing quarterly company Newsletters.

Enter donor information and event participant registration in Raiser’s Edge database.

Process acknowledgment letters and specific donor communications.

    Minimum of 1-2 years of relevant fundraising and events planning/events coordination experience
    Bachelor’s degree
    Intermediate-Advanced Microsoft office skills (Added plus: some experience with software fundraising programs (i.e Raiser’s Edge, Luminate Online, and GiveSmart)
    Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    Strong relationship building skills
    Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to represent the organization with donors as well as interface with all levels of staff while maintaining flexibility, tact, confidentiality, and a positive attitude
    Highly organized with unrelenting attention to detail
    Ability to multi-task, prioritize and complete assignments under strict deadlines with minimal supervision
    Knowledge of local philanthropic community a plus
