Volunteer Dance Teachers Needed

Groove With Me is a free dance school for girls in East Harlem. For 27 years our teachers have been volunteers. If teaching at GWM doesn’t give back to you as much as you give to the kids, I’m not doing my job. Many teachers say it’s the best part of their week. Teachers come from all backgrounds: someone who went into a different field, injured dancers, someone who was given a chance growing up when she couldn’t afford classes, someone who has aged out of the field, people who like volunteering. We teach all kinds of dance. The commitment is an hour a week from Sept. until June. Classes are between 4 – 8 weekdays and 11-3 Saturdays.
